Hi, my name is Greg
Cusimano. I have been called into the ministry since 1987. It has been
a lifelong dream of mine to be a worship leader, and it is really cool to
have such an awesome opportunity here at Agape.
Let me tell you about myself. First, let me start with my family. Belinda and I will have been married 25 years this May14th, and it seems like only yesterday. We have five wonderful kids. Lee, a sophomore at UAB in Engineering School; Joey, a sophomore at Hewitt Trussville in the Marching Band; Bethany, an eighth grader at Hewitt Trussville Middle School on the Dance Team; Emily, a sixth grader at Hewitt Trussville Middle School in the Beginning Band; Andrew, a fourth grader at Paine Intermediate School who is a goalie on his soccer team. Boy, do they keep us busy! What a blessing God has given Belinda and myself, and what a privilege to raise our children in a Christian environment.
I am also a nurse at Children’s Health System where I work in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit ministering to the critically ill newborn. I have always loved children and it is my intent, as the Lord wills, to continue working with children in the medical field.
I
have always loved music. As a little boy, I would play my older
brother's drums. At the age of twelve, I began playing guitar which I
absolutely fell in love with. I played all the time and probably drove
many in my family crazy until I improved. In the beginning, I took
instruction, but quickly became disinterested and began self
instruction. Most of my music was influenced by the 70’s bands such as Lynard Skynard, Eagles, Led Zepplin, and the like. During high school, I
played in several amateur bands. It wasn’t until college that music
became serious. It was after I decided to give my life to Jesus that I
was asked to play in a Contemporary Christian Band called ‘Rhema’. It
was great traveling on the weekends playing for youth groups and
events. This was the highlight of my musical career until now.
After
I was called to pastor during my stint with Rhema, I led worship off and
on for many years. It was about 3 years ago that I was asked to lead
worship at Agape as the Worship Pastor. It has really been a blessing
to be associated with the Praise Team here at Agape. They are so
wonderfully talented, and their love for God is so very evident.
Together we are creating an environment that fosters worship, true
worship of God as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. To Him be
all Glory, Amen!
