At Agape Baptist Church, we believe that through prayer God’s power is unlocked and lives are changed.  We also believe that the pastors, teachers, and other workers on Sunday morning will experience God at work when we support them in prayer. Prior to the Sunday morning services, prayer partners meet in the Pastor’s office and pray for God to work in the lives of people.

During Sunday morning worship, the congregation is encouraged to write down any prayer requests that they would like to have lifted up to the Lord. Those requests are taken up and passed along to the Prayer Partners, who then meet somewhere in the church and pray over them during the Sunday morning service.

During this same time, the Partners continue to pray for the pastor as the morning message is delivered.  The Prayer Partners offer their support to their pastor in the same way Aaron and Hur  supported Moses in the battle with the Amalekites.  [Exodus 17: 8-13] As the pastor delivers God’s word to the people, he is able to rest in the knowledge that close by, two or more are gathered together to lift up the ministry in prayer.

Prayer Partners also commit to daily intercession during their time alone with God and one day of intensive prayer per week. On their assigned day, these Prayer Partners “pray without ceasing” throughout the day, for the pastors and the church. The Prayer Partners Ministry is led by Wayne Hendon.
