Please allow me to introduce myself, my name is Dennis Underwood and I am the founder of Next Step Ministries at Agape. This ministry was created as a support group for amputees who are working to live with an amputation. Perhaps you are looking for information on how to get financial assistance for the purchase of a prosthetic or you need advice on which prosthetic company to try. It may be that you just would like someone to talk to about your struggles to adjust. No matter what the issue is, this ministry is here for you.

On November 3, 1999, I had my amputation surgery. It was so difficult to face this type of life-changing event at the age of 43. I have had the blessings of my wife, children, and my church family to help me with my new life. Most of all though, it is my personal relationship with Jesus Christ that has been my main rock to stand on during this time.

Today, I feel one of my life purposes is to help other amputees and their families cope with their own new life, living with a prosthetic. Only someone who has been through this type of trial can really communicate and understand what another amputee is going through. It is my great desire to be a blessing to others and help anyone who is struggling with this life event.

If you are an amputee or a family member of an amputee seeking help, please feel free to contact us. Perhaps you yourself would like to help others in their own struggles. If so, I would also like to join with you, and perhaps talk about starting a support group in your area. A group setting is a great way to share information, talk about our struggles and our stress, and encourage each other through prayer. Many times just talking with others who know what you are going through can make a huge difference.

You can reach us through e-mail at nextstep@agapepinson.com. I look forward to speaking with you!

In Christ
